Chepang Hills Development Projects

Healthcare in the Hills

Volunteer teams regularly trek up into the Chepang Hills to conduct health camps in conjunction with local Nepali medical staff. We are always looking for volunteers to join us. No experience necessary.

Childcare Centres

In the Chepang Hills CWON operates childcare centres in the villages Jinglawo and Sapraini. We are currently looking for volunteers and donors to help with the operation of these important facilities.

Completed projects:

Sapraini Water Project

A $10,000 AUD donation from the University of Melbourne recently funded a water project in the village of Sapraini in the Chepang Hills, Chitwan. This project provides clean water to hundreds of people living in the isolated hillside.

Mirabai Jinglawo School

Thanks to a huge fundraising effort by Mirabai Stockwell and a donation from the ‘Clockwork Theatre’ the construction of the school has been completed.

There was a desperate need in the hill community for a school to cater for around 100 students. At the moment the closest school for many of these children is up to 3 hours walk away, making getting a formal education impossible.

Hello 🙂 I am a work colleague and friend of Mirabai. Mirabai has an anormous sense of social justice and a wonderful love of education. It does not surprise me that she has been a key motivator in enabling this community to realise their dream of a school. I know you will reach your target and aspirations for a paid school teacher. I have access to primary syllabi if they can be helpful. It is so thrilling to know our children, our future are being supported in education which will see them making a positive difference in our chaotic world. Alison x
