What we do
CWON works with local charities in Nepal, Cambodia and Indonesia.
In Nepal, we work with communities that have been displaced by civil war as well as natural disasters such as floods and landslides. Currently, we are focusing on the Chepang hills, where hundreds of families live well below the poverty line and must survive on just a few dollars per day, foregoing basic hygiene and healthcare.
In Cambodia, we work with rural communities on the outskirts of Siem Reap that are overlooked by larger NGOs that focus only on the town. Following many years of war and genocide, the healthcare system in Cambodia was effectively destroyed and many families are unable to afford even the basic healthcare available.
In Indonesia, we support the work of a local charity in one of the countries poorest regions, East Nusa Tengarra.
We work in partnership with CWON (Nepal), CWON Oost-Vlaanderen (Belgium), Initiative Nepal (Germany), Friendship Association for Cambodian Child Hope and our sister-organization- Student Volunteer Placements International (SVPI) (Australia).
Our inaugural AGM was on the 25th of June 2011 and our registration as an Incorporated Organization was approved on 3rd May 2011.
